Bee Keeping Program

Bee Keeping Program For Abell Employees

The folks here at Abell are insect experts, often called on to control insects that pose health risks to humans.  But we are also fascinated by insects that are beneficial to humans.  And we want to help.

We put out the call to Abell employees across the country who would like to start their own amateur bee farms.  Abell is paying and providing the training.  It was incredible to see the in pour of interest from our future amateur bee keepers.  While we already have a number of hives running, it looks like in spring 2018 we’ll have many more.

The University of Guelph Honey Bee Research Center runs a sold out bee-keepers course each spring and have done so for 150 years!  In 2018 Abell will be sponsoring an additional course to be available to Abell employees and future amateur bee-keepers so we can spread the bee knowledge.

What’s wonderful about this is, as a country-wide service provider, we’ll literally be placing these new hives everywhere.  We’ll keep you posted with stores and pic as we go!
